Dear Goudy Families,

It’s hard to believe that the second quarter of school is upon us. The teachers and students have established their classroom routines, determined their academic goals, and have set forth on this year’s journey of deep learning. One only has to walk down the hallways and pause in front of classrooms to feel the tangible energy of student engagement and collaboration as they participate in various instructional tasks.

With this image in mind, it is with great pride that I share the news that Goudy has once again achieved Level 1+ status which defines us as a school of excellence! Congratulations to our Goudy community for accomplishing this remarkable achievement.

Nov 2017 - Goudy School we strive to empower students to become successful leaders and productive citizens in our society. Working toward this goal, we have put into the practice the words of the late Martin Luther King Jr who once said, "Everybody can be great because anybody can serve." With this in mind, the "Service Workers Program" was born. In this program, fifth grade students apply to commit four recess periods to serving the kindergarten students during lunch. This service involves helping them carry trays, guiding them through the lunch line, and doing small acts of kindness such as opening milk containers, fetching an extra ketchup , or simply asking them how their day is going. So far, the program has been a great success and we hope to expand it in the months to come.

Goudy does it again! Goudy was mentioned in the Chicago Sun Times as 1 of 12 schools who beat the CPS and State composite averages on the PARCC!!!

Through the hard work of our teachers, students, and parents, Goudy Technology Academy is a Level 1+ school! We want to thank the parents and the Goudy community for your continued support and collaboration to enable us to achieve such a distinguished rating. We look forward to another great school year in 2017-18!" Please see the report itself and the parent letter..
